In 2017, Autism Alliance of Michigan (AAoM) received a grant to supply GPS trackers to individuals with Autism at risk of eloping throughout Michigan. AAoM is issuing the Angel Sense GPS tracker to qualifying individuals or their families. Autism Support of West Shore has spoken directly to the researchers to Angel Sense and feel they are t the forefront of safety systems currently on the market.

Safe and Sound
The Safe and Sound program was designed and developed to assist children and adults who have special needs who may not be able to communicate if they get separated from caregivers. Individuals who qualify for the Safe & Sound Program are given a bracelet with a request for help message, the Sheriff’s Office, 24/7 hour phone number and an identification number.
Children and adults who might be good candidates are those with Alzheimer’s/Dementia/Memory Impairment, Autism, Mental Health Impairments, Special Needs.
The Safe & Sound Program is operated by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and will be made available to individuals residing within Ottawa County.
